Challenge Fuerteventura is the perfect season opener for European triathletes who want to test themselves on a tough course set against the dramatic volcanic backdrop of this spectacular island. All the action is centred around our resort. After the swim in the clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the demanding bike leg includes several inclines and leads through the picturesque villages of Tuineje and Pajara. The nature of the island means the course is as much a battle of the elements with strong hot winds, as it is a battle with your own persistence on the 90 km ride.

The final half-marathon starts by weaving through Playitas Resort before heading towards Gran Tarajal. The finish line is at the heart of Playitas. Without doubt it is not the easiest course in the Challenge Family series and course certainly reflects what is commonly said in Fuerteventura – “Ere fuerte para Fuerte?” or “Are you strong enough for Fuerteventura?".
